Making a list and checking it twice...

Not that kind of list.

...not because I'm Santa.

I made a multiple page list at the beginning of last week to get me through finals: the ones I am giving and the ones I am taking.
I have scheduled in my "nice" amidst the "naughty". Seeing a musical with my mom (an early Christmas present) was a carefully planned block of time today. Watching an episode of "Stranger Things" (my older two children got me hooked) was penciled in for a Friday night between finishing one project and starting another.

We're almost there. I have always found that the fun increases exponentially as finals week goes on. And I believed this before we started bringing puppies to campus for stress relief! Study hard. Write those papers (and proofread them). Realize there are limits to what you can do at this point in the semester. Sometimes the only way to get an A would be to get in a time machine and go back to August. Learn from your mistakes. Take naps. Laugh with your friends. Go to midnight breakfast. (Have I mentioned that the man who became my husband once held aloft two trays in the UC cafeteria as if they were the stone tablets of the Ten Commandments and proclaimed in his best Charlton Heston impression, "God has given us this midnight breakfast"?) Take a deep breath.

If you are overwhelmed, make a list.

We can do this.
