Get ready for the Oak Ridge Boys

I found out Friday, Aug. 17 that the Oak Ridge Boys are coming to the River Campus. I decided to expand here on my blog so that those who want to go can make sure to have all the details he or she needs- and to explain to those who might not know who this group is what they might be missing out on. The group, who is famous for tight four-part harmony has four decades of hits and has won Grammy, Dove, ACM and CMA awards. According to their website, oakridgeboys.com/about, even Johnny Cash saw something special in the group in the early 1970s and encouraged them to continue making music. The Oak Ridge Boys make over 150 personal appearances every year, this year making a stop at at 8 p.m. on Friday Oct. 12 at Southeast's very own Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall. Tickets go on sale Aug. 25 and can be purchased at the River Campus Box Office. I know many college students are all about the free tickets, but this show will be worth a little saving up for. The group, which has been around since 1945 and has had over 30 members come and go, will bring all of its experience in country music with its signature pop edge to Southeast Oct. 12. As someone who loves all things entertainment, I highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity.
