President and CEO of Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. Virgina McDowell announced on Feb. 23 that Cape Girardeau's casino will be completed over a month ahead of schedule.

McDowell announced the news at the casino's topping off ceremony, when the last beam of the building's frame was put into place. She said this was due to the unseasonably warm weather and effort put in by the construction crew.

City Mayor Harry Rediger was also present at the ceremony. He said the casino is widely accepted in the community and is expected to bring in a million dollars of revenue in its first year.

McDowell also announced that the casino will feature a Thanksgiving buffet, where she will be present.
