On Monday, Student Government Association met with Chartwells, Southeast Missouri State University's dining service provider, to give feedback on the dining services, and to get information on the new services being provided.

Senators said they would like to see improvement in services provided on Sunday nights in both the University Center and Rowdy's. They want to see more than one register open in the UC and more people available to cook the food because there is currently always a long wait every week.

The Chartwells representatives discussed the opening of Starbucks and they are considering having longer hours on Friday nights, and being open some weekends. Subway should be open by the end of the Spring 2013 semester, and the renovation to the back dining area of the UC should be complete by the end of October.

Chartwells said if there is an issue with the food or service, students should come see one of their managers immediately. There is always a manager on duty, he or she is the person walking around who is not in a Chartwells uniform. They also have comment cards and an online feedback form available.

The senate passed a motion to provide a television in the lounge of Carnahan Hall. The senators for the College of Liberal Arts believe that installing the TV will bring people in the building closer together. They currently plan to have the TV on silent with subtitles, to avoid disturbing classes nearby. The senators also plan to have it set on either the History Channel or CNN since the building mainly contains political science and historic preservation classes.
