Four finalists have been named for the vacant provost position at Southeast Missouri State University, according to a university press released issued on Thursday.

Airports interviews occurred on Oct. 15-16 to determine who the candidates.

The provost is the chief academic officer at Southeast Missouri State University. This position opened after Dr. Ronald Rosati accepted a position at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in March.

The finalists are Jeffrey Morin, the dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Dr. William Eddleman, the vice provost and dean of the School of Graduate Studies at Southeast, Dr. Larry Daniel, the dean of the College of Education and Human Services at the University of North Florida, Jacksonville, Fla. and Dr. Gersham Nelson, the dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, Mo.

The next step is for finalists to visit Southeast's campus for a final round of interviews. Morin will visit on Nov. 4-5, Eddleman will visit Nov. 5-6, Daniel will visit on Nov. 11-12 and Nelson will visit Nov. 12-13.

Chairperson of the search committee for finding a new provost Dr. Hamner Hill mentioned having an open-panel discussion for Southeast students to meet the provosts candidates in an interview with the Arrow in August, but no dates or times were included in the release.
