Nathan Stephens resigned on Feb. 18 from his position at Southeast Missouri State University as assistant to the president for equity and diversity issues.

Ann Hayes, the director of the News Bureau at Southeast, said he resigned for personal reasons.

Stephens began at the university on Jan. 15. He received a bachelor's degree in social work from Columbia College and a master's degree in social work from the University of Missouri.

The assistant to the president for equity and diversity issues is in charge of overseeing and developing strategies related to improving diversity at Southeast.
