The Super Bowl Party at Ignite House was visited by more than 30 people, some watched the New England Patriots come back to defeat the Atlanta on Feb.5, while others played table tennis.

“I enjoy watching the Super Bowl and all, but table tennis was funner at the party,” senior computer information systems major Taylor Bridges said.

Many Southeast Missouri State University students who attended the party were saddened by the outcome, seeing as the majority were rooting against the Patriots. A lot of the students left at halftime, most likely due to the lopsided score that tallied the name Falcons.

“This is my first NFL game and I’m glad to see the team winning I want to win, but it kind of makes the game boring when it is this lopsided,” senior Rashmi Ranasinghe said before the half was over.

He was one of the few to leave the party, with the Falcons leading the Patriots 21-3.

“I think the Patriots are cheaters, but the Deflategate did give us hilarity,” junior English major Freddy Jones said before the game.

“I’m hoping the birds win this one; I don’t want to see the Patriots win another Super Bowl, besides the Falcons haven’t won one yet,”junior sports management major Braiden Jones said.

Many records were broken this Super Bowl including the most passing yards in Super Bowl history was accomplished by Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. The biggest comeback the National Football League has ever seen in a Super Bowl also was a new mark in the history books and, to top it off, Sunday’s game was the first overtime in a Super Bowl game ever.

Julio Jones was considered by some of the audience at the Ignite party to be one of the most dominant players on the field.

“Some players are born ready for this game, he has amazing talent,” Braiden Jones said.

Patriots running back James White caught 14 passes, one of which was a touchdown pass, and he ran two more in. Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola scored a touchdown catch. Some may remember him from his years while he played for the St. Louis Rams. The Patriots have added enough ammo to the argument of greatest of all time with 15 winning seasons and five Super Bowl trophies.
