A new crowdfunding platform called Impact Southeast will allow users to donate to projects that support the Southeast Missouri State University community.

Impact Southeast is operated in conjunction with Southeast Annual Fund, which is part of the Southeast Missouri University Foundation. The Annual Fund and Impact Southeast have similar goals, but are implemented differently.

The Annual Fund is focused more on fundraising from Southeast alumni and funds are distributed among a broader set of goals for Southeast. Impact Southeast, on the other hand, allows fundraising from a broader set of people who desire to fund a specific project.

"It's so fun to pull the Southeast community together," Grace Lester, student and social media consultant of Impact Southeast, said. "You kind of see the backbone of Southeast really rallying together for new initiatives to always try to make it better, whether that's student lives or the campus or organizations."

There are two active projects seeking funding on Impact Southeast: a live performance studio for the radio station KRCU and the We Are One Scholarship, which provides assistance to students in financial need.
