Another Republican Watch Party attendee, Pete Frazier, said his campaign team worked right up until the last minute on the night of midterm elections on Nov. 6. Frazier, the incumbent Republican Cape Girardeau County Auditor, is ready to get back to work tomorrow as he starts his third term.

“You work as hard as you can, you do everything you can for the race, and you treat people right,” Frazier said. “When you get to election night, you put it into the Lord’s hands and he takes care of the rest for you.”

Frazier said he originally ran for the position because of his college degree.

“I was an accounting major, but ended up getting an education degree instead and got a masters in administration,” Frazier said. “I enjoyed the budget process, the administration of people, projects and everything else that was included.”

He said this opportunity has been a wonderful experience along with meeting wonderful people.

Despite running unopposed, Frazier still finds this night as an emotional experience for him.

“I have many friends running,” Frazier said. “You are joyful because some of your friends made it and feel sad for those that didn’t.”

The night is still exciting, he said, especially when enjoying camaraderie with close friends and family.

“This is the best part of the night, to share this exciting time with them,” Frazier said.
