After a weeklong Thanksgiving break, the Student Government Association met and approved more than $4,000 in funding for different organizations at their meeting on Nov. 26.

Senators granted funding of $911.31 towards their organization’s Public Relations Committee. The money will ensure promotional items for SGA such as water bottles, mini hand sanitizers and highlighters. The cost will be covered by a $4,000 budget set specifically for promotional purposes.

Chi Alpha Ministry received $2,100 from SGA for conference registration cost. Participating members will be attending the Great Plains South Winter Conference in Overland Park, Kansas, from Jan. 18-21.

First year Senator Jasmine Jones abstained from voting, but said the conference would be an opportunity for members to network and make lifetime friendships.

To conclude funding for the night, SGA granted Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, $1,424 for train tickets and conference registration. Members of the honor society will attend the Midwestern Psychological Association’s annual meeting in Chicago from April 11-13.
