Ahh, the first cool breeze of fall: here comes sweater weather, cozying up with a hot cup of coffee, and, of course, bingeing a new Netflix show under a mountain of blankets.

Whenever I’m stuck in a fashion rut, I love turning to a favorite movie or series for new ideas. Costume directors are professionals at putting together outfits — why not learn from them?! If you’re also looking for a little inspiration from the stars, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite titles on Netflix to watch for the threads (and the plot, of course).

>>>>> Girl Boss: In this Netflix original, we receive a little insight into the founding of one of the hottest online shops, Nasty Gal. Protagonist Sophia spins thrift shop finds into merchandise for her online shop in this quirky-cute series based on the founder’s story IRL. Also? You’ll adore the vintage jacket she scored in the pilot episode and every ‘70’s-inspired look she rocks.

>>>>> Gossip Girl: Need I say more? No, I don’t — but I will, anyway! Cozy in for a six-season binge with this early 2010’s staple, centered on the lives of New York City’s Upper East Siders. You’ll master the art of headbands like S and B in no time — and fall in love with Kristen Bell’s viciously petty narration. XOXO, GG.

>>>>> Bling Ring: So good, it’s criminal. You might remember Emma Watson from the beloved Harry Potter series, but now you’ll encounter her in a different light: a teen set on robbing the rich and famous for their designer clothing. In the A24 film, you’ll find inspiration in 2000’s throwback outfits with a good amount of cringe thrown in for fun (hint: it involves zebra stripes). Also, it’s based on a true story! Wiiiiiild.

>>>>> Queer Eye: I’m usually not one for reality TV, but this series has been recommended to me again and again. Join the “Fab Five” as they change lives one makeover at a time. I love seeing how a new perspective on clothing can totally build confidence in each person. It’s fun, inspiring and lighthearted — give it a watch!

These are just four recommendations, but there’s plenty more out there! Tweet me your faves at @nbakerARROW!
