Audience members will hopefully “Feel The Love,” at the first Sundays at Three concert of the school year, which will feature music from movies. “Sunday at the Movies” will be held at the Robert F. And Gertrude L. Shuck Music Recital Hall at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29.

“Sunday at the Movies” will feature music audience members may recognize from different films such as the Disney short “The Little Match Girl,” and “Scent of a Woman”. Assistant Professor of Single Reeds Gabrielle Baffoni serves as the director for Sundays at Three. Baffoni said the concert series is performed by a variety of groups that can include students, faculty and alumni.

“Three of the performers that are doing a couple of pieces on this concert did one of the pieces on a recital last year,” Baffoni said. “It was a piece from ‘The Lion King.’”

Baffoni said the performers will showcase the same piece at “Sunday at the Movies.” Sophia Han, Barbara Lamont and Zachary Stern will perform “Can You Feel The Love Tonight,” on the violin, piano and saxophone at the concert.

Han is the applied violin and concertmaster of the Southeast Missouri Symphony, Lamont is the director of choral activities and Stern is an adjunct professor in the Department of Music.

“From what I can tell, the music is all going to be really fun to listen to, and in a lot of cases, really recognizable,” Stern said.

This year, there will be five total Sundays at Three performances, with three in the fall semester and two in the spring semester. Baffoni said this year’s series will feature music outside the chamber music typically featured in the past, such as a bluegrass group. Some guest groups travel to perform at the series, such as the Wheelhouse Rousters, who hail from Paducah, Ky., and will perform Oct. 24.
