SEMO Baseball drops first game of the series

The Redhawks dropped their first road game of Ohio Valley Conference play on Friday night 4-3. SEMO jumped out in front early when Jevon Mason scored the game's first run in the top of the first on a sacrifice fly from Tyler Wilber.

Austin Peay gained the lead in the bottom half of the first when on an RBI single from Jack Alexander and when TJ Foreman scored on a double play to make the game 2-1.

The Redhawks scored two runs in the top half of the 5th to regain the lead. Brett Graber scored on an RBI single from Ben Palmer. The second run of the inning came on a 2-out RBI single from Peyton Leeper giving the Rehawks a 3-2 lead.

Back to back homers from Ty DeLancy and Alexander off of Kyle Miller in the bottom of the 8th gave the Governors a 4-3 lead and they were able to hold onto it in the 9th.

The Redhawks and Governors will be back in action tomorrow in Clarksville Tennessee with first pitch set for 1:00 p.m.
