SEMO campus closes for emergency water outage

The SEMO campus will close at 3 p.m. on Sept. 22 due to an emergency water outage. No classes will be held at 3 p.m. or after. Classes that began before 3 p.m. will continue to be in session.

According to an email sent out by the University, the rupture is causing the loss of hot and cold domestic water in several buildings. Facilities management is looking into the ruptured pipe and making arrangements for emergency repairs.

The following list of buildings will not have cold or hot water during this outage:

• Academic Hall

• Carnahan Hall

• Serena Building

• Art Building

• Cheney Hall

The following buildings will experience very low water pressure, especially on upper floors:

• Brandt Hall

• Boiler Plant

• General Services 1

• General Services 2

• Scully Building

• Magill Hall

• Rhodes Hall

• Johnson Hall

• Seabaugh Polytech Center

• Rosengarten

• All Group/Greek Housing buildings (excluding Greek Village)

River Campus facilities, all dining facilities, the Student Recreation Center and Kent Library will be operating as normal. Students can check for updates about Friday classes by 6 a.m. tomorrow via SE Alert.
