Southeast Missouri State University will be closed on Oct. 5 due to city wide water outage. In a university news release, it stated Residence hall students were encouraged to go home while the water is out.

“Once water is restored, campus will remain under a boil water order until further notice,” the news release stated.

The university is also setting up precautions for students who are not able to leave. According to the release, bottled water will be available at front desks in dorms and portable toilets will be set up, along with access to hand sanitizer in the dorms.

“Tower’s Landing, Houck’s Place, St. Vincent’s Commons and Redhawks Market at the UC will be open with limited menus,” the release stated.
