Even though Super Bowl Sunday isn't found on any calendars, it is the most-watched program on television in America, according to an article written by Wonderopolis. Families gather together to watch two of the best football teams in the NFL play in the highly anticipated championship game.

This year, the Kansas City Chiefs will be playing against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, February 12.

Out of loyalty, Professor of mass media, Dr. Pamela Parry will be rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs. She remembers watching her first Super Bowl game when she was eight years old, so Super Bowl Sunday is a yearly tradition.

“I think it’s going to be a very close game,” Dr. Parry said. “I think it could be a three-point game that could go either way.”

This coming Super Bowl Sunday, Dr. Parry has invited her brother, Mike and neighboring friends over to enjoy the game while eating a couple of slices of pizza.

Junior sports management major Dylan Kooyer is planning on staying warm with his fraternity brothers at the Pike Mansion as they snack on a homemade nacho bar. Kooyer is following his Super Bowl traditions by spending time with friends while watching the big game.

Kooyer said he knows the Eagles are going to be a tough team for the Chiefs to beat, but has faith they will pull out a win.

“There’s a lot of signs that want you to point to take the Eagles because honestly, they’re looking phenomenal,” Kooyer said. “But I think with Tom Brady retiring, I think we're watching the Chiefs being a dynasty, and a lot of people are still giving them some doubts.”

Senior Business Management major Brendon Hayden hasn’t decided on who he is picking to root for this year. He hopes both teams will have fun on the field while he eats traditional wings and buffalo chicken dip.

“Whoever I pick is probably going to be wrong,” Hayden said. “I probably want the Eagles to win, but I feel like the scriptwriters probably have Mahomes winning another [Super Bowl]."

Who do you think will win the 2023 Super Bowl?
