The Student Government Association (SGA) approved a $5,800 fund for student booths at SEMO’s 150th anniversary event. The resolution passed unanimously Monday, Feb. 6. Twenty-three registered student organizations will be receiving funding for promotional giveaway items.

SGA parliamentarian Jonah McGuire said, “Most of these will be given out as prizes for games.”

The body also voted without dissent for eight new senators. Two positions in the Holland College of Arts and Media were filled by junior public relations major Chloe Ray and junior vocal performance and advertising double major Morgan Goad.

Three vacancies in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences were filled by senior political science major Ryan Wilke, junior historic preservation and anthropology double major Julia Vogt, and junior corporate communications major Allyson Dell.

Three seats in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics were filled by sophomore biology: pre-physician assistant major Sydney Blackmon, sophomore biomedical science major Tyler Martin, and freshman biological science major Sanita Tamang.

The new senators start immediately and will serve for the 2022-2023 academic year. Four positions remain vacant.
