Trust is a fragile thing that can easily be broken, intentionally or accidentally. Imagine that you are part of a superpowered team, but the thought of potential problems looms over your head. What happens if you don’t take precautions to protect yourself and everyone else?

Well, let me introduce you to a particular DC animated movie where this dilemma takes place, Justice League: Doom. Warning: Spoilers, but the movie has been out for ten-plus years.

The movie follows a storyline where the Justice League consisting of Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Cyborg are put into peril because supervillains have stolen plans to neutralize the Justice League. It is even more tragic when they discover the plans that were made to neutralize them came from their very own teammate.

Yes, that’s right, Batman made the plans to neutralize his team, but is anyone surprised? I mean, this is Batman we are talking about; he’d probably have a contingency plan to take out his own son. Anyway, the Legion of Doom consisting of Bane, Mirror Master, Cheetah, Ma’alefa’ak, Metallo, and Vandal Savage carry out the adjusted plans to kill the Justice League while continuing Savage’s plan for world domination and destruction.

Now, it is up to the Justice League to stop their plans while overcoming their weaknesses to save the world, but it also begs the question of trust within their team.

From the incredible voice acting from Kevin Conroy, Susan Eisenberg, Carl Lumbly, the movie is brought to life. The early DC comic animated movies are some of the most underrated films to grace the eyes of comic book lovers everywhere.

The movie has beautiful animation for its time and sets up the ending significantly because it leaves the viewer wanting more regarding what happens next for the Justice League. Seeing our favorite superheroes take down the bad guys is always a sight that brings a smile to anyone’s face.
