The Glenn House and the River City Players will be hosting a Spirits with the Spirits event for Halloween. The Glenn House is a Victorian building home built in 1883 that is located on Spanish Street.

Southeast Missouri State University history professor Dr. Joel Rhodes said that the Glenn House is rumoured to be haunted, so it is a good location for a haunted house fundraiser. There will be a River City Player actor in each of the eight rooms of the house. A tour guide will take guests through each room and they will perform a ghost story.

"This is the second year we have done this fundraiser," Rhodes said. "It's an opportunity to hear excellent ghost story telling from the River City Players in an actual haunted house, so that makes it extra creepy."

Tickets are $25 and all proceeds from the event will go to the Glenn House and the River City Players. The event is at 7 p.m. Oct 20.

"The actors really get into the spirit of the evening and every room has a different chilling story," Rhodes said. "At the end of the tour people come together at the Carriage House for beer, wine and food and its really cool to listen to the people talk about the stories they just heard and invariably share some of their own favorite ghost stories with each other."
