Planning to go to Panama City Beach for spring break? Me too! Here are some tips and ideas that may help you along in planning the perfect ocean-side trip.
Panama City Beach? Let’s go!
Panama City Beach, Florida or PCB, is a popular destination for many college students looking for a relaxing and exciting spring break getaway.
From the beautiful beachside to delicious seafood, Panama City Beach offers a variety of possibilities for first-timers as well as frequent visitors.
Being a first-time visitor myself, I want to convey some of my own thoughts and ideas on how to best prepare for an amazing trip to PCB.
The price of fun
Firstly, any vacation or trip has the unfortunate aspect of necessary funds. However, it doesn’t have to be consumingly expensive.
The initial idea I had was to invite lots of friends. In addition to making the trip more fun, this also splits the price of transportation and housing.
Accomplishing this may seem more difficult than you think, but even asking one additional person helps!
Secondly, buy some groceries when you arrive. While eating seafood and purchasing drinks every day of spring break sounds amazing, it’s not the best money saver.
Senior insurance analyst Sterling Price provides some insight into budgeting on vacation.
“Overall, Americans spend an average of $33 per day on food when on a vacation within the U.S. In aggregate, more than 80% of that amount is spent in restaurants,” says Price.
I suggest stopping by the nearest Aldi store and purchasing groceries that are cheap and simple to make, such as ramen, sandwich ingredients or cereal.
Lastly, choosing your wardrobe is both essential and potentially expensive.
I found that a combination of thrifting and using the clothing I already possess is a fantastic way to spice up your look while not breaking the bank.
What am I forgetting?
Along with the essentials, there are some additional items that may make for a better trip that are easy to forget.
Many beachgoers easily overlook sunscreen, but it is something that should not be forgotten. Sunburn may turn into a tan, but the pain isn’t worth it, trust me.
Another item that is difficult to remember is beach towels. Make sure to bring a lot of them.
Chances are your lodging doesn’t have an in-unit washer and dryer, and using one salty towel for the week doesn’t sound ideal.
Finally, bring some entertainment. Board games, a good book or even a transportable console may save the day come unforeseen circumstances.
Weather can never be for sure, so it’s always good to have something to do inside just in case.
Let’s go to the beach-each
Sunscreen is packed, outfits are ready and the budget is fixed.
Making sure to capture the exciting moments and memories you create is the final step to making this spring break unforgettable.
