Breanna Miles wrote her name in the SEMO history books by securing her fourth consecutive Ohio Valley Conference Female Track Athlete of the Year.

In the intense world of track and field, where competition is fierce and maintaining success is challenging, one athlete has managed to accomplish what few others have: a fourth consecutive title.

This remarkable achievement has solidified Breanna Miles as a standout athlete not only for SEMO track and field but for the Ohio Valley Conference as well. It’s become a part of her yearly routine, yet her approach remains humble and grounded.

“Honestly, it’s not really all about winning. It’s just go out there and have fun,” Miles said.

When asked about her secret to continuous consistency from season to season Miles shared:

“I just listen to what my mom say, the faster you run the faster you get done,” Miles said.

After years of competing at the collegiate level, Miles has accumulated countless memories, but she’s learned to take away something deeper than just awards and titles.

“The biggest lesson that I learned is, no matter if I win or not, I still know deep down inside who Breanna Miles really is,” Miles said.

Miles’ individual success is even more significant when coupled with her entire team’s accomplishments. SEMO women’s track and field team claimed the Ohio Valley Conference Championship for the third year in a row.

Assistant sprints, hurdle and relays Coach Theresa Scott commented on how the three-peat felt.

“It is a really special feeling, very amazing feeling,” Scott said. “I tell my athletes- if there’s any ounce of doubt that you have within yourself, it’s going to show so you have to be able to believe yourself going into your races.”

Miles’ influence on the team is not only seen in the scorebooks but also in the atmosphere of the track. Sophomore teammate and sprints runner Sydney Burdine gave her thoughts on Miles’ presence.

“As a teammate, she’s very uplifting. She knows how to push us,” Burdine said. “She’s someone I can relate to, she gives good pep talks.”

As the SEMO women’s track and field team celebrates their third OVC victory in a row, one thing is clear: Breanna Miles is an unwavering contributor to their success.
