The Redhawks won 48-27 against Austin Peay.

The Southeast Missouri State University football team had lost 10 consecutive away games before its game Saturday against Austin Peay.

The Redhawks won 48-27 over Austin Peay. Southeast never trailed in the game and scored first on a 3-yard touchdown run by senior running back Levi Terrell with 8 minutes, 49 seconds left in the first quarter.

Terrell rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns during the game. It was his fifth consecutive game with over 100 yards rushing.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Scott Lathrop also had a game-high and career-high 179 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Southeast's defense forced three turnovers during the game, including a fumble at Southeast's 2-yard line. Senior defensive tackle Joe Malolo forced the fumble, which senior free safety Branden Spann returned for a 98-yard touchdown with 3:05 left in the game.

"The momentum was definitely in Austin Peay's favor at the time," Southeast coach Tony Samuel said in a university press release. "I thought we did well a good portion of the third quarter. We needed a big stop and made a huge play."

Senior defensive end Taylor Ramsey led Southeast's defense with a career-high seven tackles and two sacks.

The Redhawks next game is against Eastern Kentucky at 1 p.m. Saturday at Houck Stadium.
