Four TV shows you should watch on Netflix right now

Black Mirror:

Honestly, this sci-fi series will keep you on the edge of your seat with every episode you watch. If you like horror, thrillers, and the idea of technology potentially being the catalyst to the darkness that is inside human-kind, then you will love Black Mirror. The series plays an even darker twist on The Twilight Zone by mimicking the structure with a new mysterious plot in each hour-long episode.

Keep in mind, the show can be very graphic and follows incredibly dark concepts about the future of humans and the potential of technology in the wrong hands.

New Girl:

In this series actress Zooey Deschanel finds herself rooming with three odd-yet-endearing men in Los Angeles. Although Zooey’s character, Jess, is quirky and the lead role— the guys absolutely make the series. Their constant bickering, personalities, and story lines truly make the series hard to stop watching.

Another great part of this series is how great the writing is for each character, and every season adds onto that depth. If you ever have a bad day, you could watch any episode of this series and you are almost guaranteed a laugh.

American Horror Story:

This series in incredibly unique, but it also is incredibly dark. Although the cast remains very similar throughout each season, each season covers a completely different story about the possible horrors that lie within the past and present and the characters are completely different.

Personally, I think what makes this series so spectacular is the acting. The show covers dark, psychological ideas in association to disturbed characters, which require great actors and actresses to portray realistically without coming across over-done. Every season is always impressive in actor performance, and I am always sucked into each storyline because of this.

Parks and Recreation:

Parks and Recreation will always be one of my favorite television series. From beginning to end, this series is gold. Leslie Knope, Ron Swanson, April Ludgate, Andy Dwyer, and so many more characters make this show so pure and hilarious. Because of the way the show is filmed, similar to the documentary-esque filming of The Office, it feels as if you are watching everything unfold like you are apart of the shows. As if the characters are talking directly to you.

Yes, sometimes the characters can be a little over-the-top, but it is a great show to just watch to laugh and makes you believe that maybe there are generally nice people out there who care about the well-being of their communities and friends.
