Today, Missouri Governor Eric Greitens resigned in Jefferson City. His resignation is effective Friday at 5 p.m.

This comes after his extra-marital affair came to light in January followed by a slew of legal battles and criminal charges against the embattled governor. According to the state constitution, Lt. Governor Michael Parson will take over Friday.
