The Tunes at Twilight summer concert series is ending another season with a performance from contemporary duo Sabrina & Tony tonight in Ivers Square.

With more than 30 years of shared experience, Sabrina Murdaugh and Tony Marvelli draw their audience in with Sabrina’s vocals and Tony’s multi-instrumental talent.

The duo traveled all across the country, from places like England to Illinois, performing Sabrina’s original compositions as well as music dating back to the 1960s to present day, across all genres.

Casey Zimmerman, the volunteer who mainly coordinates Tunes at Twilight, said, “I think the season went really well. We had large crowds every week outside.”

This season, they have brought in 12 bands with a variety of different sounds and entertained countless people.

Zimmerman has been the main coordinator of this event for five years. She said she took over for Larry and Jean Underburg because she always enjoyed attending the concerts and wanted to see them carry on the same way.

“It’s not just about the music, it’s about bringing different aspects of the community together,” Zimmerman said. “Some people come to visit with friends and some people come just for the atmosphere.”

The end of the season doesn’t mean a break for Zimmerman. She starts booking for the next season right away. She said it can be a lengthy process, staying in contact with the artists and helping them figure out details along the way. She sometimes even lets artists stay with her.

“Pretty much everyone who plays at Tunes at Twilight wants to come back, but I try to keep a year or two in between artists appearing here,” Zimmerman said.

Zimmerman said that her main goal for next year is to improve reach within the community. She said she also would like to draw more attention to City Church, where the events are moved when the weather is bad.

Bring your lawn chair or a blanket to Ivers Square at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy the final concert of the series.
