Southeast football dropped to No. 23 in the FCS Coaches Poll after a shocking loss to Murray State on Saturday, Nov. 10.

Murray State overcame a 31-7 halftime deficit to upset the Redhawks 40-38 scoring the winning touchdown on a kickoff return in the final seconds of the Ohio Valley Conference matchup.

In the game, junior outside linebacker Justin Swift scored a pair of defensive touchdowns in the forms of a 60-yard fumble return and a 76-yard pick six on back-to-back possessions. These scores coupled with his eight tackles and one sack earned him his second OVC Defensive Player of the Week.

This season marked the first time since 2014 that Southeast ranked in the top 25, and the No. 19 ranking last week was the program’s best since moving to Division I in 1991.

The Redhawks will finish its regular season against Eastern Illinois at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Houck Field.
