SEMO Releases 150 year timeline

Thursday, March 2, 2023

SEMO recently released a timeline of the university over 150 years, beginning at the normal school foundation in 1873 to the expansion of River Campus in 2022.

The reflection of SEMO’s history over 150 years displays major changes the university has made such as the change from the Normal School to Southeast Missouri State University. The timeline shows each significant achievement SEMO has made over the previous 150 years, one every ten years.

SEMO’s upcoming birthday is on March 22nd along Normal Avenue from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm. Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Communications Tonya Wells and Director of New Student Programs Katie Krodinger are leading the planning of the birthday party and are seeking volunteers to help with setup and takedown of the celebration.
