Today is National Beer Lover’s Day. As beer continues to evolve, Many Good Things Brewing partnered with SEMO Athletics to create SEMO Red, an Irish Red Ale. According to VinePair, red ale is an American-style beer combined with malts and caramel to produce a hoppy flavor and red color.

The forgotten mascot, SEMO Red, is featured on the canned beer riding a Redhawk. ‘A Brew high above the rest’ was crafted for SEMO’s 150th Celebration. Andrew Stewart and Ray Perez brew and can SEMO Red in their business downtown.

Many Good Things Brewing opened up in 2021, after co-owners Stewart and Perez took a trip northwest in 2013 and both fell in love with an Imperial IPA called Hetty Topper brewed by The Alchemist. They came back with inspiration to craft beers of their own.

SEMO Red will be available to purchase at the Redhawk's home opener this Saturday, Sept. 9 at Houck Stadium. SEMO Red will also be available at Schnucks Cape Girardeau, Rhodes 101 Convenient Store and Kidd’s today, Sept. 8.

Owner Andrew Stewart, Casey Trierweiler and Owner Ray Perez were happy to partner with SEMO Athletics to curate SEMO Red.
