My first and fourth tattoos.
My first and fourth tattoos.

I got my first tattoo the summer I turned 18. It is a phoenix on my back and symbolizes my struggle through depression and "rising from the ashes," as cheesy as that sounds.

My second tattoo I got in September, over a year after I got my first one. It is on my foot and says, "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger." This is pretty much my motto for life.

My third tattoo is on my hip, and I got it in November, two months after my second one. It is a heart with wings in remembrance of three close friends I lost, Bax, Jack, and Luke.

The most recent tattoo I got over spring break this year. I had, "I will fear no evil for thou art with me," from Psalms put around the phoenix on my back.

All my tattoos I got at Threshold in St. Charles, MO, and I would definitely recommend them for anyone thinking of getting a tattoo. They are pricey, but very professional, clean, and great tattoo artists.
