The City of Cape Girardeau crews have completed repairs to a city water main break that occurred Wednesday, according to the Southeast Missouri State University news release.

The break caused the closing of the main and River Campuses until Tuesday.

The line has been repaired but cannot be activated until testing from city officials has taken place and approval has been obtained from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

The university reported that the water on campus is safe to drink, but that the current water flow and pressure will remain at current levels until the approval from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources takes place.

Classes are set to resume and offices are set to reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2. Until then the university has adjusted its schedule.

The payment deadline for new or added enrollment after July 28 has been extended from Friday to Wednesday.

Testing Services in Kent Library will remain open for scheduled appointments and test.

The distribution of iPads to College of Education students will resume Tuesday in Memorial Hall, Room 107 and will continue through Thursday. Times of distribution are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

ITV classes on the main campus are cancelled, but those originating from the regional campuses will continue as planned.

Textbook rental is closed but the Southeast Bookstore is operating on its normal schedule.

The Campus Health Clinic will be closed except for previously scheduled appointments.

The Student Recreation Center-North is operating on its normal schedule.

The Towers Open Computer Lab will be operating on its holiday hours.

The First Friday reception will continue as planned from 5-7 p.m. tonight at the River Campus Art Gallery.
