The event gave students the opportunity to beat a car with a sledgehammer, all in the interest of raising money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the fraternity’s philanthropy.

“It’s the beginning of the week, beginning of school, you gotta let all of that stress out,” Jordan Riehn, a member of TKE, said.

The car was donated by Junior Sinn Auto Parts and was spraypainted with “TKE out Cancer.” Students who participated signed a waiver, put on a pair of safety glasses and were allowed to take as many swings at the car as they wanted. Students were not required to donate, but the fraternity raised $103.
