Tuesday, January 22, 2019

As students are welcoming the start of the spring semester, they are also welcoming a variety of new businesses opening in Cape Girardeau. Four businesses, in particular, seem to have stirred up a lot of excitement on campus.

The much anticipated multi-entertainment center Dogwood Social house has announced it has been open since the beginning of January. They are located at 80 South Plaza way. They have activities that will appeal to guests of all ages. Activities include axe throwing, bowling, arcade games, and more. One of the first big events being held at the new multi-entertainment center will be an official grand opening party that is set for Tuesday, Jan. 29.

Krispy Kreme located on William Street was set to open Monday, Jan. 14 but has been delayed due to recent weather. They plan to have it open no later than February.

Soon students will also be able to enjoy Cape Girardeauís first full service rolled ice cream shop at Buddyís Rolled Ice Cream, located at 610 Whitelaw Ave. Construction is underway with a lot of work left to do, but according to their Facebook page, the shop is planned to open sometime.

The grand opening of historic Cape Girardeauís newest hangout, 21 Taps, will be Jan. 19. This pub, located at 36 N. Spanish St., offers a self-serve beer wall with 21 varieties of beer to try, a full liquor bar and pub food.
