Brennon Todt of Todt Roofing Company has submitted a proposal to the City of Cape Girardeau to rehab and revamp the old Broadway Theatre.

According to Old Town Cape, the project has three major steps: creating retail spaces, luxury living spaces and an event venue.

The city received enough votes to pursue this project and the developers will present their plan to the City Council on April 17.

Old Town Capes’ advocates say the new space will bring increases in property values for surrounding areas, saves the city money in addressing safety concerns, returns money to the city in sales tax revenue, additional downtown housing contributes to vibrancy and economic vitality of the city and it aligns with City Comprehensive & Downtown Strategic plans.
