Low and behold, it’s the main character of Victorious, a show about teenagers with talents in the visual and performing arts, Leon Thomas III, coming to bless our ears with his vocals on his new song “Breaking Point.” The feels hit you right in the face as the beat and tempo flow through your ears.

This is one of those songs that makes you feel like staring at the window and lip sync as rain falls gracefully outside. It has an early 2000s soul and R&B feel that makes you want to put the world on hold and listen. Leon has made previous hits on the show, and he has not missed a step with his vocals.

The song starts with a slow piano and guitar as the beat builds to create this catchy tune. Leon sings about his relationship and how it has reached a point of no return or the “breaking point.”

He feels that he and his partner are just filling voids instead of loving one another, and he thinks he can handle the pressure and all sides of love, even when people would tell him that it is a fragile and breakable thing.

He clarifies that he doesn’t want to end things with the lyric, “I don’t want to go nowhere.” He knows leaving is what he needs to do to prosper with the lyric, “This is what I’m supposed to do.” His love for this woman was bliss, but it turned out to be in a relationship for the sake of being in one.

The song has the vibe, feel, and voice that makes you want to close your eyes and float like a pool. It causes you to look internally and think about how the relationships we form may be just to combat loneliness, loving the thought of someone, and not being in love with them.

Leon Thomas captures the feeling of not wanting to let someone go, but that may be the only option for both people to grow and heal.
