Southeast's Historic Preservation Association will elect their club leadership by next week.

The Historic Preservation Association held a meeting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday in Carnahan Hall to discuss elections for club leadership in the next year. Candidates each gave a short speech detailing their goals for the positions they are running for.

The incumbent officers are president Chris Kinder, vice president Samantha Hennenfent, secretary Jessica Reisenbiehler, treasurer Rebecca Schmitt and historian Brittany Contralto.

Candidates for president are Samantha Hennenfent, Rebecca Schmitt, Kelli Mitchell and Adam Scholz.

Candidates for vice president are Kelli Mitchell, Brittany Contralto and Adam Scholz.

Candidates for secretary are Chelsea Edwards and Lindsey Hotz.

The candidate for treasurer is Samantha Kluesner.

Candidates for historian are Lindsey Hotz, Emily Sajdak, Erin Holmes and Andrew Scott.

Active HPA members will vote via an online voting program. Voting closes Fri., April 6, at 6 p.m. All candidates stated similar goals for their election platforms, such as leadership skills, advancing networking and creating fundraising opportunities for the annual national conference that the club attends.
